The caring, compassionate workers and professionals at Freedom4Animals have recently implemented this program to cultivate deeper learning in the science and emotion of empathy. Definitionally, empathy means the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another of either the past or present without having the feelings, thoughts, and experience fully communicated in an objectively explicit manner. After much research and reflection about the growing degree of violence in the world, mental health professionals associated with Freedom4Animals believe that empathy is more critical than ever. As such, we are initiating further research, thinking, and discussion about this essential topic and life skill. Some of the projects include learning software, on-ground educational programs for children and adults, “animal show-n-tell,” book projects in the phenomenology of empathy, art and photography, and guest speakers for your organization.
